I hand polished it and there is NO loss ofthickness of the brass from buffing. The horn was ultrasonically cleaned and then the body was done and theother parts waxed to hold the shine. I use a Pearl and silver mix with clear lacquer to make the bodygleam. After I polished it I decided to hide the wornspots by doing a Satin blasted body and coating it with my custom tinted NikolasLacquer. I played this horn for a while before I decided to polish it andmake it look beautiful again. The horn has been in my personal use for thelast few years and unfortunately, for me, there are too many cornets in mycollection. The lead pipe also has a few dingsthat I didn’t take completely out. It has the originalbeautiful silver plate finish with only a few small body dings and some remnantsof dents on the bell tube, rim, and backbow.

But it was still a greatplayer! The logo on the horn says: The maintuning slide was cracked and the braces were loose. The main waterkey and the bottom valve caps were missing. It was silver to start and very worn on the lead pipe and lowercasings. The serial number is 283739, which should date the hornto 1959. The two horns are very similarand play almost alike.
